Group Village Headman Kawombe at the Mchinji border has expressed his willingness to donate land to the Buchermans for the purpose of establishing a Halaal slaughtering system in his area. This announcement was made during a seminar organized by the Halaal Department at the Mchinji border on August 1, 2024. The chief commended the Halaal Department for their initiative in hosting the seminar and encouraged local business owners to adopt Halaal practices. He emphasized the importance of providing designated land for slaughtering animals to curb the indiscriminate slaughtering that has been on the rise at the Mchinji border.
Gift Thole, representing the Officer in Charge of Police in the area, praised the Halaal Department’s slaughtering system, noting its effectiveness in reducing livestock theft among farmers. He assured the Halaal Department of their commitment to adhering to Halaal regulations at the Mchinji Border. Additionally, the veterinary office urged stakeholders to comply with Halaal standards to ensure the community has access to healthy food. He called on all parties involved to implement Halaal policies by creating appropriate facilities for butchers to carry out their work efficiently.
